What exactly are dental veneers?
Dental veneers are basically wafer-thin, custom-made shells made of porcelain or composite resin which is designed to cover the front surface of your existing teeth to enhance its appearance. The veneers help provide a natural look. Porcelain veneers can also resist stains, hence porcelain surface is completely smooth.

Procedure for getting Dental Veneers
Usually to get dental veneers one requires at least three trips to the dentist. The first one for the consultation process, second and third visit to make and apply the dental veneers.
The first step of visiting your dentist for the consultation also involves your active participation. You should be able to explain to your dentist what results are you trying to achieve. The dentist will examine your teeth and gums to make sure veneers are the option for you.
The second step would be the preparation of your tooth for fitting the tooth veneer. A layer of tooth is shaved away from your existing tooth. The dentist needs to make a model or take an impression of your tooth and send it to the dental laboratory to be made. You will go home with a temporary veneer.
The third step would be the bonding stage. Your dentist needs to permanently cement the dental veneer to your tooth, but before doing that he/she will try the veneer on your tooth to examine the veneer’s fit and color
